Scott is a wilderness adventurer, ex-science teacher, and birder who finds any excuse to get out, whether challenging a big day record, birding Borneo with his family or kite surfing in Kachemak Bay. Scott, Becky, and their kids Quetzal and Trogon excel at packing more adventure into one day than most families do in a week, and somehow they are all still smiling at the end!
Scott’s boundless energy, wilderness expertise, and varied interests have led him on a myriad of expeditions throughout Alaska, from distance ski races to packrafting volcanic craters on the Alaska Peninsula. Extremely conscientious, organized, and a whole lot of fun to be around, Scott has been leading tours for Wilderness Birding Adventures since 2006, bringing his unique brand of nutty enthusiasm to our trips. Despite what you may have heard about his exploding omelets, his technical competence in all aspects of back-country travel runs deep.
